LiFePo4 is proving to be a very exciting addition to the electric vehicle universe. While management is easier than other lithium ion types, a pack needs cell-level low voltage protection. Protection must have two functions - detect low voltage and do something to protect the cell from being discharged lower.
This board is about as simple as it gets. It's capable of managing from one thru 24 cells per board. It has an active cut-off function that can be implemented on packs containing six or more cells. It outputs an optically-isolated signal that can be used to control many controllers directly. The output signal can also be used to control larger currents with a suitable MOSFET or relay add-on.
Low voltage set point can set to 2.1 and 2.7 Volts.
We're stress-testing the active cut portion of the circuit now and will be using the LVC to control a relay for testing on one of our electric motorcycles.
